Exodus 28-31 Instructions to obey to bring glory to God

The High Priest was a type of Christ as he entered the most holy place on behalf of the people.  He was righteous (linen coat v39), heavenly (blue robe v31-55), representative (ephod v3-29), a holy man (golden plate v36-38).

Aaron was enter before God on behalf of others - we can do so but must approach Him in view of His holiness.  We cannot and must not enter God's presence lightly.

Ch 29 The Ceremony

The cleansing  v1-4
The robing v5-9
The anointing  v7
The sacrifices  v10-37

Jesus' sacrifice is once and for all - not to be repeated again!  Hebrews 7:26-28

The sacrifices were there to ensure the day started & ended with focus and rightness before God.

Ch 30

There was need for prayer & daily cleansing - the incense was a reminder of it rising to God.

Ch 31 God had chosen those who would be involved in the building of the tabernacle, but He had freed up the people who would be using their skills for God's glory.  God has given us gifts & abilities, but it is up to us to use them for His glory.
